Coming February 23, 2008: Muslim History in America

The Dar Al Hijrah Outreach Committee will be having a program presenting the history of Muslims in America.

Saturday, February, 23rd 2008 from 12:00PM – 9:00PM as the Dar Al Hijrah Islamic Center.

The afternoon will feature a walking tour of the American Islamic Heritage Museum [AIHM] exhibit in the courtyard of Dar Al-Hijrah. Br Amir Muhammad, who is Director of the Museum will lead discussion about the exhibit

Also, from 7:30PM – 9:00PM, Imam Khalid Abdul-Fattah Griggs, author the new book “Islamic Party of North America” will lecture on the History of the Islamic Movement in America in the Post Malcolm X period.  Special emphasis will be placed on the role of Americans and their achievements in Washington, DC

Film Festival:  Throughout afternoon there will be are series of showings of the films:

Prince Among Slaves,  Malcolm X followed by discussions lead by Imam Johari Abdul-Malik
